Keep Closets Clear with Mini Self Storage
If you have ever been embarrassed when company arrives and you have no place to hang their coats, you might want to consider renting a mini self storage unit to reduce some of the clutter. A lot of people believe that self storage units are about the size of a small garage and don’t want to spend money on wasted space. The reality is that some of the units available as small as five-feet wide and 10-feet deep, or less, giving you all the room you need to clear out a closet or two.
These size units are typically not real expensive but can be a real bargain if you can’t fit one more thing into your closets. If they are packed with things you just can’t bring yourself to throw away, an off-site storage unit is the answer. Whether it’s located in a larger outdoor setting, that resembles several small garages attached together, or on the inside of a climate controlled building, you will find a mini self storage locker that is right for you.
Depending on the type of facility from which you rent, you should be able to have 24-hour a day access to your unit. Most outdoor facilities have a gated entrance requiring a code for access to the facility but you can go anytime to access your unit. Some indoor units will have a central entry point and may have restricted hours of availability. So these are options you will want to look into when checking out storage facilities.
The majority of mini self storage units will work great for boxes and small items, but realistically are not meant for larger items that barely leave room for anything else. If you rent an outdoor unit you need to be mindful that it is possible that not all of them will protect your belongings from small intruders such as insects or rodents. You will want to check with the unit’s owners to determine if that will be a justifiable fear. You will also want to verify that they are not subject to flooding in the area and if something does happen to your belongings, is the facility covered by insurance against your loss.
